Have You Ever Thought About Blogging?

We all have strongly entrenched ideas and opinions about certain things – the price of cheese, the shakey-cam style in movies, or even Batman. And you can bet, there are other people who would love to hear your ideas and opinions. I’d personally love to hear about the price of cheese where you live!

Blogging can be a lot of fun, especially when you write about whatever is currently pressed on your mind. It’s a great way to share opinions or news, and connect with people from all over the world. Better yet, when you blog about a certain topic, like English as a second language, you connect with a whole group of people who are interested in that very topic. Friendships are formed, and connections are made.

So, what better way to improve your English, than to blog? The thought of you presenting your English to the world might be a little nerve-wracking. But, there are so many benefits:

1. It Will Improve Your Writing:

Obviously, the biggest part of blogging is writing. The more you practice your writing, the more you will improve. There are lots of handy online tools you can use to check your spelling, and grammar before you publish a blog post. Because you’re writing about something you’re relatively passionate about – cheese, movies, Batman – you’re going to be motivated to keep writing. One of the biggest struggles when learning another language is keeping your motivation. But when you’re writing about something that means something to you, you will be authentic and passionate with your writing. This will motivate you to keep on blogging, and improving your English.

2. It Will Improve Your Reading:

Once again, the more you practice reading, the more you will improve. When you blog, you follow other bloggers and view their content. This puts your reading into practice! Plus, reading other people’s blogs is usually a lot more entertaining than reading assigned material which can often be boring, and hard to relate to. Boring reading material doesn’t happen when you’re reading about other people’s opinions on Batman!

3. It Will Improve Your Overall Level of English:

No matter what your level of English is when you’re constantly reading, writing, thinking, and speaking in English, your English is bound to improve. You put all those skills into practice when you blog. Plus, it’s so much fun!

What if you’d like to start a blog, but you have no idea what to blog about? Here are just a few ideas:

  • Self-improvement

  • Health & Fitness

  • Learning Languages – Your Personal Growth

  • Travelling

  • Rescued Animals

  • Food & Cooking

  • DIY Projects

  • Photography

  • Interior Design

  • Music

  • Beauty – makeup, hair, style

  • Movie Reviews

  • Product Reviews

  • Book Reviews

  • Poetry

  • Your personal life experiences

These are only a few ideas, but there are endless possibilities. Write about what you love, and what you feel the most passionate about. You also don’t have to blog about one specific thing. If you love animals, music, and makeup – write about all of those things! That’s why blogging is so much fun. The possibilities and opportunities are endless.

If you end up blogging, I’d love to see your blog posts! If you have any questions about blogging, how to get started, or what to write about, please contact me. I’d love to help you out in any way I can. Have fun blogging!
